New Song
A new song, One By One, is now uploaded under 'Songs'. Hope you like it.

Verse 1:
I dreamed I was an ancient traveller
High upon the sea
Seeking out a way to you
The stars were guiding me
Will this dream come back to haunt me?
Has my nightmare just begun?
Or should I count my blessings one by one

Verse 2:
I caught the tide and sailed for home
To where I thought you'd be
On my knees and to the moon
I prayed for calmer sea
Will this ocean take me?
Will it wash me clean away?
Or will your hand reach out and save me
And save my day

Verse 3:
Am I standing on the rocks beside you
Or sinking in the sand?
My hand is bare, no light to guide
Or show you who I am
I know it's not forever
One day I'll look and you'll be gone
So I'll live out our days together one by one
I know it's not forever
Someday day I'll look and you'll be gone
So I'll live out our days together one by one
TACKEROO
THE TACKEROO OPEN MIC: Due to the holiday season (including my absence for 3 weeks) the World Cup & not to mention the difficult economic situation, we have agreed to put our Thursday nights on ice for the summer & return big & strong in September.
Blakey's Return
Really looking forward to returning to my old haunt Blakey's Cafe Bar next Tuesday 25th when I stand in for current host Andy Hall at the long established Open Mic night.
LUKE JACKSON April 3rd
Won't be long before I proudly present the incredible talent that is LUKE JACKSON as my guest at The Old House at Home (see gigs). This is the second time that Luke (& his dad) have taken the trip from Kent to Staffordshire & I'm really excited about seeing them again.
White Lion, Bridgenorth
Another new gig in my quest to 'conquer' Shropshire (lol). Had a really great night. It was one of those that start & you wonder, 'oh dear, I've got this one wrong' but once the first group of people (who were fine but not up for my music) moved on it turned out a very enjoyable night. I'll be back there shortly & they've also booked me for their own Folk Festival in August, so that's really good. Nice to see some people travel to the gig. Kelvin & Tony thank you, & also an old friend & work colleague,(when I had a proper job) Andy arrived out of the blue. Looking forward to the next one.
The Nanci Boys

Another superb night at The Old House At Home last night when my guests were The Nanci Boys. A great set well appreciated by the packed house. Thanks Alison, Andrew, Helen & Lawrence.
'The Best Of Acoustic'

What a fantastic night at 'The Old House At Home' last night. The place was buzzing with people who love to hear real music & they weren't disappointed. My Special Guests for the evening were Ella Watt & Adam Coxon. Following a set from me, Ella was first up & unveiled her beautiful voice that immediately silenced everyone & pressed on with a great performance concluding in cheers for more. A little later & it was the turn of the brilliant Adam Coxon. Adam's reportoire is unique for someone of his young age treating the audience to songs that were born in era's that he should know nothing about, Patsy Kline, Marianne Faithful, Velvet Underground to name just a few. Thanks everyone for your great support. Looking forward already to the 6th March when my guests will be 'The Nanci Boys'.
New look @ The Old House
My 1st Saturday of the month gig at The Old House At Home in Hartshill is taking on a new look for 2010. Entitled 'The Best Of Acoustic' & starting Feruary 6th I will be joined by specially selected guests, the first of whom are the wonderful singer & guitarist Adam Coxon together with a fantastic talent from Stone, Ella Watt. I'm confident that this format will prove popular & I can't wait for the first one. Guests for March & April are already booked & come in the form of (March) 'The Nanci Boys', a four piece from Stafford who play country/folk/blues & have a passion for Nanci Griffith. April sees a visit from one of the finest young singer songwriters on the scene today, from Canterbury, Kent, the amazing Luke Jackson.
Jon Gomm Success
Just arrived home from my support gig with the incredible Jon Gomm http://www.jongomm.com. It all went really great. Ella Watt gave a wonderful performannce too. Thanks Dom http://www.thesupersets.comfor organising an amazing night.

The Bulls Head, Chelmarsh
What a fantastic gig last night at The Bull, near Bridgenorth www.bullsheadchelmarsh.co.uk. This was my first visit so I was feeling a little bit out of my comfort zone but John & Norma were wonderful hosts & made me very welcome. The audience were great & very knowledgable about their music. I will be back there in the new year & can't wait.

New Song - 'The Life I Left Behind'
To coincide with quite a significant birthday tomorrow, I've posted a new song. 'The Life I Left Behind' tells the story of a guy of similar age to me who attempts to make one last gasp attempt to recapture his youth. Hope you like it. Thanks, Paul.
THE SWAN
As a correction from my previous post, my gig at The Swan in Stone is this Wednesday 30th SEPTEMBER.
Steve Tamms is Joining Me
I am thrilled that for my Swan gig I will be joined on piano by the brilliant Steve Tamms. Can't wait.
Back @ The Swan,
After at least a couple of years I'm really excited to be playing again at The Swan in Stone on Wednesday 30th September www.myspace.com/swaninnstone. The Swan continues to be one of the leading music pubs in the area & has to be praised for their commitment to promoting original music. I'm playing the gig solo &, as always, it will be great to see some familiar faces.
Luke Jackson
As I mentioned in my previous posting, I had singer songwriter Luke Jackson as my guest last night in Stafford. I'd watched and listened to Luke many times via his MySpace site www.myspace.com/lukepauljackson so I new that we were in for a good night. But stop there!!!! What I'd not seen was Luke in the flesh, behind a microphone and in front of an audience, wow, that was something completely different. Everyone was mesmerised by his astonishing performance and captivating songs. And no, he wasn't just good for someone 15 years old, he was amongst the best performers I've seen. Totally in charge of his incredible voice (which has at least three different modes) together with his excellent guitar technique. Luke has a single released in September 'Faith'. I recommend that you visit his website and order a copy now www.lukepauljackson.co.uk. Thanks Luke for memorable evening.
My Guest 'LUKE JACKSON' This Sunday

I'm really excited that my guest this Sunday (23rd) at The Luck Penny in Stafford will be the young & super-talented Luke Jackson. Luke is a 15 year old singer-songwriter from Canterbury in Kent. He is a Myspace sensation & has a huge future ahead of him. We are so lucky to get him up to Stafford & I urge anyone who appreciates great talent not to miss it. The evening starts at 8.30pm. See gigs for full details. Hope you can make it.
Open Mic Cull

After more than 6 years of dedicating most of my playing time to hosting open mic events, I've decided to pull in the reins a little by handing over two of the nights to other players.
What a joy it will be to watch the TV (or maybe not), to actually go to an open mic as a guest & relax, to get some gigs where I can actually play more than three songs myself, to play golf, to say "who are you again?" (answer, "I'm your wife"), to go & watch a band, to do a floor spot at the folk club, to watch my overdraft get bigger!!!! Are you sure I've made the right decision?
New Song
'All The Way From Eden' is a new song that I finished recording last night. As with all of my recent songs, the songs have beautiful lyrics written by Paul Thomas www.myspace.com/paullyricist . It's probably the most satisfying composition I can remember doing. I hope you like it
We Get To Meet

How great it was to meet up with my co-writer Paul Thomas today. Paul was on a visit to London from his home in Tel-Aviv so we seized the opportunity to get together. We headed straight for Starbucks & spent the next couple of hours getting to know each other & a very enjoyable time we had too.
Recording
I've just added a new page that introduces my recording facility. Please contact me if you fancy coming along or if you have any questions.
New Mix
I've just uploaded a brand new mix of 'Don't Mean Nothing'. Hope you like it.
Sound On Sound
My album 'LIFE OF PLENTY' is reviewed in the new 'Sound On Sound'. I just about got away unscathed!!! I'll publish a copy as soon as I get a mo.
Going Down Fighting
Another new song from the lyrics of Paul Thomas. A bit of a rocker this on. Hope you enjoy it.
New Faces @ The Fitz
This Sunday (Easter Sunday) we will be welcoming the new 'permanent' landlords, John & Rachel, to the Fitzherbert Arms in Swynnerton. The venue has been in a bit of turmoil for the past six months with various caretakers etc but this time it looks like things will settle down again. Thanks to Craig & Jo who during their short stay provided much support towards us maintaining one of the finest Acoustic Nights for miles. Hope to see you there this Sunday. Keep Music Live.
The Pommy Returns
Just returned from a fantastic holiday in Australia (Perth). Straight back into quite a heavy Gig/Open Mic schedule so feeling a little groggy right now. Let me warn you though..... The pictures will follow!!!
Another NEW SONG
I'm really excited about the new song that I've uploaded today. 'Don't Mean Nothing To Me' www.paulwalkermusic.co.uk/song/0/11/eis now the fourth song that I've written with Lyricist Paul Thomas, all of them composed this year too, which is a bit of a record for me. This one is composed with a young male vocal group in mind, hence why I invited Dominic my son to do the lead vocal. I'm doing all the backing vocals along with the 'Fat boys, thin boys' bit, which strangely sounds a bit like Dom's singing too. Hope you like it.
Pocket Full Of Stones
The new song 'Pocket Full Of Stones' written by myself & lyricist Paul Thomas is getting quite a response. In addition to radio plays on Venture Radio (The Bob Birch Show), BRfm Radio & Summit Radio (this Saturday) my writing partner Paul has been contacted by Brad Arnold the lead singer with the top US band '3 Doors Down'. He wrote to Paul saying "hey I really like your new song 'Pocket Full Of Stones'. I know and believe that it's gonna be a big hitt"! Well he should know, his band has sold over 11 million albums. Please give it a play & I'd very much welcome your thoughts.
New Song Upload
I've just uploaded a brand new song which I finished recording last night. It's another from my songwriting partnership with Paul Thomas. It's called 'Pocket Full Of Stones' & has quite a different feel to my regular stuff. See what you think & if you have a moment let me know your views.

Acoustic Magazine

This is what Acoustic Magazine had to say about Life of Plenty & what will be in their February publication:

'Like Ralph Mctell, Paul Walker is one of those English folkies that has been on the English circuit threatening mainstream success for just about forever. Still, his latest album, is well worth checking out. Points are scored for his faithful rendition of country legend Steve Earle's 'Johnny Come Lately' while originals like 'Thrown Away', 'If I Was Young' and 'What Will We Leave' are well written & well played. It's unlikely that Life of Plenty will suddenly make Walker a star, but it will cement his reputation amongst those already in the know.

Jez Lowe Support Review

'I caught up with him last Wednesday, when he performed an impressive 25 minute support slot at the Jez Lowe concert in Biddulph. The delivery of his songs and guitar work were first class, which was most appreciated by the audience and drew a favourable comment from Jez Lowe. He's well worth seeing.'

Album Review
The review of my album 'Life Of Plenty' in the new 'Acoustic Magazine' has been awaited with a fair degree of trepidation on my part. After an initial panic attack when an advance copy fell on my mat this week I was ultimately relieved & thrilled that the review was extremely complimentary. In my usual modest fashion I've put it on the front page for the world to see.
